Visit Gibraltar!

Around an hour and a half driving south from Malaga, the AP7 motorway will take you to the border of Spain and the British territory of Gibraltar.
Gibraltar is only 2.6 square miles and is dominated by the 426-meter-high Rock of Gibraltar, at the foot of which is a densely populated town, home to around 32,000 people, A British military base and an international football team!
Steeped in history, The Rock is now also a great tourist attraction from the world war 2 tunnels, underground caves and armories to cable car rides to the top the rock where monkeys roam free. Guided tours of the Rock, boat trips, Dolphin spotting, and diving centres are open all day every day during summer months (weather permitting) and are reasonably priced.
In the town square you’ll find bars, restaurants, fish & chips and plenty of souvenir and duty-free shops!
*Remember when visiting Gibraltar, you will need your passport as you are crossing a land border. Please check the strict alcohol and tobacco allowance when returning to Spain.

Originally built in the first century on roman ruins, it was renovated and rebuilt in the 13th century and completed in 1333, although the palaces were partially altered in the 1500’s in the Renascence style the Alhambra is a must see.
On the other hand, if snow sports are your thing, around an hour drive to the top of the Sierra Navada mountains you’ll find Europe’s most southernly Ski Resort!
The world-famous Sierra Navada ski resort hosted the Alpine championships in 1996, World cup women’s technical races in 2007 and most recently the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding world championships in 2017.
